Rural Women in the Know

Last Friday, March 7, a group of 32 rural women school teachers visited WAB. They all came from Suichuan, a poor mountainous area in Jiangxi, a Red Army base area during the 1920s and 1930s. The teachers are up in Beijing for two weeks of professional development, hosted by the Rural Women’s School, a non-profit institution that has been supported by the WAB community for some years. The teachers came to WAB to learn about WAB’s approach to learning. MS Chinese teacher Hui, and China Studies teachers Wenjing and Dennis shared insights. Thanks to all the teachers who welcomed them into their classrooms! A special thanks to David Harrison for giving 10 of the younger teachers a guided tour of the HS, plus a whirlwind bicycle tour around the rest of the campus, which they enjoyed vastly! A most fruitful exchange for all!
