Hoops of Hope

WAB is holding its first annual Hoops of Hope event on Sunday December 7 from 9:00am - 5:00pm in all three Gyms (ES, HUB, HS). Hoops of Hope is a marathon basket shooting event where students and parents can shoot baskets to raise money for AIDS victims, research and awareness.

The International Festival Chorus is proud to present: Beethoven Symphony No. 9 Choral, featuring internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Ning Liang with WAB staff and parents, on Saturday December 6, 7:30pm, Forbidden City Concert Hall.

Christmas Dinner with Jane Goodall

The Jane Goodall Institute invites the WAB community to join Dr. Jane Goodall for a Conservation Christmas Dinner on Friday December 5 at the Traders Upper East Hotel. Tickets are on sale now in PTA Place (ES).

Facial hair is fashionable this month among WAB teachers participating in a beard/mustache-growing competition for charity. Throughout the month of November, participating teachers will set aside their razors and focus on raising money for a new local orphanage.

How to Solve a Problem Using Inquiry Maths

On Monday November 17, 2:00pm, WAB parents are invited to a workshop with Charles Lovitt to learn more about Inquiry Mathematics, an approach that enables students to combine essential skill sets with the ability to think, apply reason and communicate clearly.

World Run Day

World Run Day 2008 will be taking place at the WAB Track on Sunday November 9 from 9:00am-12:00pm. All ages are welcome so bring your family and friends to enjoy a morning full of jogging, running, and even biking to support our local migrant schools.

International Festival Chorus

What do HS Admissions Officer Helen Vollrath and HS Music Teacher Judith Mann have in common? They are among several WAB teachers and staff members performing this Saturday at the Forbidden City Concert Hall with the International Festival Chorus.

Olym'picnic' Fosters Community

Last Saturday afternoon, hundreds of WAB families and staff members gathered on the WAB Sports Field for a sunny afternoon of community fun. Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a special day for our families, especially Derek Davies and the WAB Properties crew.

Olympic Artist Received by WAB Community

The Distinguished Speaker Series continued last week with a presentation by Charles Billich, who is renown internationally for his Olympic-themed mixed-media lithographs and other works. 

Parent Effectiveness Training Course

WAB parents interested in learning more about parenting techniques are welcome to attend a Parent Effectiveness Training course, offered by Beijing resident and family support expert Kathryn Tonges. 

WAB Teacher Releases "Bus Adventures 2"

All aboard! Children's author and WAB MS/HS Chinese teacher, Zhao HuiXu is back with her second bilingual children's book in the 'BusAdventures' series. Hui will be reading from her new book at the Beijing Bookworm on Sunday October 19, 11:00am.

Terry Fox/ Beijing Hope Run

The annual 5-K Hope Run, held in memory of Terry Fox, will take place in Chaoyang Park on Saturday October 25.

WAB Students Report for Dutch News

During the Beijing Olympics, three WAB students had the unique opportunity to share WAB's Olympic Spirit with their peers back home by appearing on a Dutch youth news show that was filmed in Beijing and at WAB.
