WAB Run Sponsors 33 Students!

WAB Run Day 2009 has collected a total of over RMB 37,800, all of which has been donated to the Taoyuan and YuYing migrant schools. This was enough to sponsor 33 students for a full year of tuition at these schools.

Tiger Sharks Compete in First Inter-school Meet of Season

Congratulations to all the Tiger Shark competitors on their fine showing in the first inter-school swim meet. Teams from BCIS, Dulwich and WAB competed in the event.


97 Swimmers Compete in First Meet of Season

The Tiger Sharks swim team at WAB held its first season 1 competition on October 9. This event was an in-house meet for all swimmers. A total of 97 students participated from ES, MS and HS combined – a fantastic turnout!


Germanspeakers Saturday School Begins September 12

The Germanspeakers Saturday School Beijing at WAB will open its doors again on Saturday the 12th of September 2009. The German Saturday School Beijing is intended for German native speakers. There will be classes offered for children Age 2.5 to Grade 5 as last year and the school is thrilled to offer a new class for MS students Grade 6 - 8 this year as well.

Roots and Shoots Wetlands Community Day

WAB families are invited to join Roots and Shoots groups and the local community on Saturday June 13, 2:00pm - 4:30pm, for a Wetlands Community Day at the Green Generation Environmental Education Center at WAB. Come join Roots and Shoots to learn about wetlands and water quality at the lake. There will be environmental games, a raffle drawing and lots of fun to be had!

The WAB Leavers Ceremony

In order to properly bid farewell to leaving students, staff and their families, but to also acknowledge and thank them for their continued support of the WAB Community, and to stay in touch with the WAB Alumni Network (WAN), the Alumni Office hosted The WAB Leavers Ceremony in the High School KOI Garden at the end of May.


Gong Ho for Gong He

WAB welcomes a visiting delegation of former marines, along with their family members, on Friday June 19 during the Whole School Assembly in the ES Gym. The group not only shares WAB's core value of the Gong He spirit, but is responsible for having introduced the phrase Gong He (or Gong Ho) into the English language.
