Panda bears were all the rage in ES Art Teacher Margot Marks's classes last week when Mr. Zhao Bandi, aka the "Pandaman" visited WAB to share his love for art and the Olympic spirit.
In celebration of the 2008 Olympics, Zhao, a well known artist, decided to create
his own mascot, the five-color panda, bring
ing pandas for the first time out of the black-and-white world. In order to
spread the joy and happiness of the upcoming Beijing Olympics, Zhao decided to present his pandas to children from
everywhere, including Chinese children as well as children of other
nationalities to express love and care. Last week, as a celebration of the 100 day countdown to the 2008 Games, Zhao visited the Beijing School
for Migrant Workers' Children, Beijing Children's Hospital and Western
Academy of Beijing.
