The Finalists and Winners of the WAB Living Pen Short Story Competition all went to BPIEC Book Shop at Pinnacle and bought up big! Not only did they each use their prize money (ranging from 100RMB - 500RMB), they also help select books to go into the ES Library collection.
They were delightful WAB ambassadors! I have never seen such enthusiasm, bordering on salivation, whilst buying books. Then, with continued exuberance, they asked me, "Can we read on the way home in the bus?" Needless to say, they hurried to the bus, sat, fetched their book and read. I could have heard a pin drop the entire way home! A delight to see all this in action.
This was a great initiative instigated by ES Gifted Coordinator John van der Zwan.
