From September 18 – 19, all Grade 6 – 8 classes will be traveling to local venues for a China Studies Foundation Trip. This outing provides opportunities for students to build relationships, practice Chinese language, connect with the local Chinese community in the greater Beijing area and plan how Community and Service connections will be developed throughout the year via the curriculum.
Grade 6: “Where Do I Fit In?”, Huairou County
Mountain Base Training Camp, east of the Huairou Reservoir
Grade 7: “How Can I Make A Difference?”, Changping County
Students will stay in a small Chinese hotel in Sanhe Village, by the Ming Reservoir and at the foot of the Mangshan National Forest Park. The group will travel by public bus and cycle a short distance in small groups, avoiding main roads (optional).
Grade 8: “What is my Responsibility to the Community?”, WAB & Vicinity
Grade 8 classes will sleep at WAB and conduct their learning in the Cuigezhuang and Hegezhuang townships in the vicinity of WAB.
