On Thursday October 9 - Friday October 10, WAB students in Grades 3, 5, 7 and 10 will participate in the International Schools Assessment (ISA). WAB will be participating among over 120 international schools in 40 different countries.
The ISA helps WAB measure the strength of its academic program against other similar international schools and it is used as a tool for reflection and curriculum review within the school. It also provides us with a measure of success against the Program for ISA, an Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development-led initiative to measure world wide math and reading literacy for 15-year-olds.
Each student will participate in 5 short assessment sessions where they will complete tasks in the areas of Mathematics, Reading Comprehension and Writing. These sessions will occur in class as part of the normal school day. Individual student reports will be mailed to parents in February. These reports will help students gain a sense of their success compared to students of a similar age in similar school environments around the world.
We look forward to building on our successful results from last year.
