Authors, Illustrators to Draw in Readers During PTA Book Week
Over the week of November 10, WAB's PTA and Friends of the Libraries will present the annual PTA Book Fair as well as two PTA Visiting Authors.

As WAB prepares its first ensembles of student musicians to participate in APAC concerts, the school is thrilled also to be participating in a new educational outreach program organized by Beijing's International Festival Chorus.

Message from the Director
WAB parents will have the opportunity to meet the visiting Accreditation Team, comprised of representatives from CIS, NEASC, IB and NCCT, the week of October 20. The Accreditation Team will hold a parent meeting for the purpose of asking parents questions about the school, including their thoughts on the school's everyday practices in relation to accreditation standards.
The Team is Coming
Next month, WAB welcomes a four-party Accreditation Team to WAB for an extremely important visit. From October 20 - 24, representatives from CIS, NEASC, IB and NCCT will be on campus for the purpose of conducting an accreditation visit.
Olympic Education Continues Through Paralympics
Between the Special Olympics in Shanghai (October 2007), the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics, WAB students have shared the Olympic spirit by volunteering for countless activities, meeting athletes and supporting events.
Wild Duck Lake Thrives Again
Wild Duck Lake, the body of water mirroring WAB's High School building, is thriving again, thanks to the generous contributions of the WAB community and Bayer China through the "Green Generation" campaign.

International Schools Assessment
On Thursday October 9 and Friday October 10, WAB students in Grades 3,
5, 7 and 10 will participate in the ISA's.
IB Diploma Results for Class of 2008
WAB’s second class of Grade 12 students to undertake the IB Diploma exams performed exceptionally well and significantly
above the global average. Results provide evidence of the high quality of learning and teaching at WAB, and establishes a high benchmark for Grade 12 students studying for the IBDP at WAB.
Mid-Autumn Festival
WAB wishes the entire school community a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival. Families are reminded that the school will be closed on Monday September 15 for the national holiday.

WAB Hosts Australian Olympic Committee for Beijing Games
Over the summer holiday, WAB hosted the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), which set up an Olympic home-away-from-home on WAB's campus. Each of Australia's 400+ Olympic athletes visited the ES Gym to pick up their official Olympic uniforms and to relax away from the Olympic Village.
