Lost Property
Students and parents are reminded to check the Lost Property centers in the ES, MS, HUB and HS for those missing tracksuits, lunch boxes, umbrellas and other items. All property unclaimed after the last day of school will be donated to charity.
WAB Hosts JUMP! Programs for MS & HS Students this June
JUMP! returns to WAB this June with a new and exciting Community Enrichment Project, which is offering an integrated and experiential approach to community development in International Schools around Beijing. Programs are on offer for middle and high school students from WAB and other international schools across Beijing. JUMP! will also be running a third workshop with students from the Taoyuan Migrant School.
Eclipse: Grade 10 Arts Show
HS parents are invited to wind down the week (and the school year!) with Grade 10 performing and visual arts students on Thursday 22 for Eclipse, the 2nd annual Grade 10 arts evening. Enjoy live performances of classical music, reggae and rock, as well as an art exhibition you won't soon forget.
Grade 12 University Acceptance Offers
Our 72 graduating students have a broad range of plans for next year. Some are taking a gap year to study Chinese in Beijing, while others are traveling or volunteering with NGO’s. Whether they are going directly to tertiary education or taking a gap year, the majority of students from the Class of 2008 submitted college applications. Students have received acceptances to the following colleges and universities thus far.

WAB Shines at ISAC Track Meet
Congratulations to all the members of the Track team who ran, jumped and threw so well on Saturday. For the third year running, WAB performed strongly in all the events. This year, WAB won all relay races entered by a substantial margin. The under 14 final for 100m featured five WAB girls who made it past the heats. The boys final had three WAB boys, who put forth an excellent effort!

Grade 12 IBDP Students Enter Final Week of Exams
In the HS, Grade 12 students enrolled in the IBDP are currently sitting the final IBDP examinations, which continue through May 23. These rigorous exams test students on their learning from the entire IB Diploma Program, and, for some students, will impact on where they will attend university. Best wishes to all Grade 12 students as they challenge and affirm their learning from the IBDP.

MS & HS Parent Workshop on Language Course Selection for 2008/2009 School Year
All MS & HS parents are invited to attend a parent workshop regarding WAB’s launch of an Additional Language Pilot Program for the 2008/2009 school year. The workshop will take place on Monday May 12, 6:00pm - 7:30pm, in the MS, Room 5105 (first floor, near Red Scroll Library). Parents with any questions regarding this program are strongly encouraged to attend.

Grade 12 Students to Sit IBDP EXAMS May 5 - 23
From Monday May 5 - Friday May 23, Grade 12 students studying for the IBDP will be sitting IBDP examinations. These rigorous exams test students on their learning from the entire 2 year IB Diploma Program, and, for some students, will impact upon where they will attend university.
HS Dance Performance "Stunning"
The HS Dance Department presented a stunning selection of works on Tuesday night in the Blu Theatre. Audiences were wowed, across the board, by what some called a truly stellar performance.
Exam Time in the HS
The week of May 12 - 16 is Exam/ Assessment week for Grades 9 - 11. Students are reminded to eat a balanced diet and get plenty of rest in preparation for exams!

Australian Opals Shine on WAB Tigers
On Tuesday afternoon, members of the Australian Women's Basketball Team held a skills clinic for WAB MS and HS students. Haje Halabi, HPE, reported, "Our kids were so thrilled with the way the Australian athletes interacted with them and got them involved. I have seen many sportspeople come to schools over the years, both internationally and in Australia, these women were wonderful in what they did and how they did it."
IB Art Exhibition
The IBDP Art Exhibition opened this week in the High School, following a visit from a visiting IBDP Art Examiner. Eleven Grade 12 students exhibited their works, with diversity in many unique themes and media. Grade 12 student Tripp said, "The IB Art show was the one thing I have been looking forward to for two years now."
WAB Welcomes Australian Women's Basketball Team
WAB welcomes the Australian women's basketball team, which will be on campus April 22 to conduct a basketball clinic for high school students. The team, known as the Opals, is currently ranked as world champions. The Opals will be in town to participate in the 'Good Luck Beijing 2008' tournament in China.
