It was an exciting match between BCIS, Harrow and WAB teams to finalise the Bob competition, held in WAB's Blu Theatre on Tuesday morning.
BCIS, although unavoidably late due to traffic snarls, were on fire - and won convincingly with 70 points. Harrow came in well with 50 points, and WAB showed their prowess with 44 points.
The concept of the 'challenge' was appropriately used, and pronouncements from judges were accepted with grace and dignity. All students displayed their considerable engagement with titles selected for this year's book list, and have obviously been absorbed with their reading - commendable!
Very big thanks to all those who have assisted with the organization of the competition this year - readers and question-writer/composers, teaching staff who assisted with supervision, schools who have hosted 'friendlies', and those who organized finance, shopped for refreshments, and arranged the technology (furniture/tables, lighting etc and booking venues) for the ensuing matches.
It has been a great start to a very worthwhile competition, and Helena Trevor, HS Teacher Librarian, and I have enjoyed working with
Dan Stamp and Penny Hodgson from Harrow and Rita Tamayo from BCIS. Thank you! Long may it continue - bring on the Pan-Asian BoB!
Photos and certificates will be sent to students and schools shortly.
