| Many thanks to Michael Crook (pictured here at Grade 12 Graduation) for assembling the expert panelists and for sharing his own personal experiences from this era in China's recent history. |
On Friday June 6 all Grade 10 students spent the day engaging with China's recent history. First stop was a visit to Chairman Mao's mausoleum followed by lunch at Hong Se Jing Dian, a Cultural Revolution theme restaurant. While dining on traditional Chinese fare, students experienced a show evoking the atmosphere of the time. Back at school, students listened intently to a panel discussion hosted by Michael Crook, WAB China Studies, with panelists sharing their memories of the Cultural Revolution. Grade 10 students took advantage of the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.
Our thanks to Wenjing Wang and the China Studies department for organizing this fabulous opportunity for our students.
