The work of Chinese artist Shen Jingdong is on display in the HS, along with works by French artist Thoma Rhyse.
Hello, our names are Yoeun Chung and Ji Yeon Ahn
and we are currently Grade 10 students. Last week was Grade 10 work
experience week and we went to ‘Imagine Gallery’ to work with Ms.
Laetitia Gauden, the owner of of the gallery.
During
the work experience, we planned to curate a small art exhibition over
at the high school building with the paintings done by two artists,
French artist Thoma Rhyse and Chinese artist Shen Jingdong. We were
supervised by Jonathan Boehm, a French art student who currently has an
internship at the Imagine Gallery. To hold the exhibition, we had to
choose a place to hang the paintings, select the paintings that were
going to be hanged, and measure the sizes of every wall to make sure
the paintings fit in the right place. Also we went to Imagine Gallery
to bring all the art works to the high school and the hardest part of
all was to measure and nail paintings on the wall and make sure they
weren't crooked or tilted to one side. At the same time, we had to care
about composition between the paintings so it can look beautiful on the
wall side by side. In the exhibition, there are two paintings done by Shen Jingdong and 11 paintings done by Thoma Ryse.

Because
we worked so hard and so many beautiful paintings are on display, we
would like many people to see this exhibition. Also, we want to thank
Ms.Cowin for giving us this great opportunity which we learned so many
valuable things from, Ms.Palmer, Ms.Gauden, and Jonathan who helped us
to set up this exhibition.
