WAB's First AP Calculus Class Excels
In May, a dedicated group of Grade 11 pupils became WAB's first students to undertake the Advanced Placement (AP)
examination in calculus, representing a significant step forward in promoting and
recognizing excellence within WAB's mathematics program.

10 Out of 10: A Fabulous Celebration
Grade 10 students celebrated the end of their years of MYP study on Thursday last week at a certificate presentation followed by a dinner and evening of fun awards and music. The certifcate presentation was an opportunity to congratulate the students on a year of unique learning experiences.

IB Diploma Results for Class of 2008
WAB’s second class of Grade 12 students to undertake the IB Diploma
exams performed exceptionally well and significantly
above the global average. WAB students taking the full IB Diploma
averaged a score of 32 which is significantly better than the world
average of 30. This provides evidence of the high quality of learning
and teaching at WAB, and establishes a high benchmark for Grade 12 students studying for the IBDP at WAB.<br />
"Dreaming of Phelps"
Johanne, Grade 10, describes her personal journey of struggling to swim 12-meters in the WAB pool during HPE class to rising every morning before dawn in order to train herself to swim an easy 1,500-meters. Read this inspiring story of how one WAB student took risks, recongized an opportunity to increase her balance and opened her mind to something she'd once dreaded. <br />
HS Open House
All HS parents are invited to meet their teenagers' teachers and principals and tour their classrooms during High School Open House on Wednesday September 17, 6:00pm. In addition, Grade 9 - 10 parents are invited to attend a China Studies information meeting at 5:30pm to discuss the upcoming China Studies Field Trips.
"Pura Vida" for WAB's Spanish Speakers
On May 28, Spanish language students and native speakers in the MS/HS attended ‘Pura Vida 2008’. Michael McCarthy's students report: "We participated in piñata breaking, and the high school students let out some steam after final exams whilst swinging at the star shaped piñata."
