How Not to Write a Poem
Writing poems is complicated,
It makes my brain feel constipated.
I never have something to write about:
My ideas always keep running out.
My rhymes all come out wrong,
Just like a bad love song.
I would much rather go play
Than sit at my desk all day.
I can’t create any good devices,
They always take ages and ages.
I heard the playground call for me to go -
That was just a while ago.
I tried to write a simile
But no good thoughts came to me;
Like a dried up river bed
I’m left with an empty head.
I can’t think of a good way
To end this poem and go play.
Writing poems is complicated,
As I have already stated.
