PTA Charity Collection for the Red Cross

From May 19 - 23, the PTA will be collecting new and/or gently-used blankets/duvets and tracksuits to sent on to the Red Cross Society of China for distribution in areas of Sichuan province stricken by the earthquake. Contributions may be dropped off in the boxes provided in the ES Foyer. Please note, at this time, that the PTA will only be collecting blankets (no sheets, pillow cases, etc.) and tracksuits (no other clothes or items, please).

PE Passports

The PTA reminds all WAB families to use up any remaining funds on their PE Passports before the end of the school year. Any remaining credit will not be carried over into the following school year.

Snuggle up with a WAB Pillow

Comfy WAB pillows are the latest item available at PTA Place (ES). Available in a variety of favorite colors (red, blue, green, yellow, black), these pillows make a great going away present for WAB leavers or for students transitioning to MS or HS. The WAB logo is embroidered on one side, the other side is great for kids to sign their names.

PTA - WAB-Yosemite Liaison Group Lunch

WAB parents residing in the Yosemite housing compound are invited to a shared lunch on Tuesday May 20 at 12:00pm. This will be the last meeting of the year for the WAB-Yosemite Liaison Group. Please bring a dish for everyone to share, and reserve your spot by RSVP'ing to Lotte at lotsamu@yahoo.dk by Friday May 16.

PTA Still Seeks Fun Fair Volunteers!

The PTA is still seeking volunteers to help out with the PTA Fun Fair, particularly with preparing activities and decorations before the actual date of May 24. The PTA Fun Fair committee will be meeting afterschool each schoolday in the ES Art Wing to prepare decorations. WAB parents are invited to place their bids on a number of red-hot items, including Olympic memorabilia autographed by gold medalists, a family pass for the Olympic Village, an official Australian Olympic tracksuit, a three-night stay at the Kempinski hotel's Sanya Resort and more, at the silent auction to be held on Saturday May 24.

The PTA Charity Committee Seeks Giants, Flying Pigeons

From May 12 - 22, the PTA will be collecting used adult bikes for the children of Sun Village and kid-sized bikes for migrant children. If you've outgrown your Giants or Flying Pigeons or any other gently used bicycle, please consider donating to this cause!

JingXi Place: Now Offering More than Ever

JingXi Place, the PTA shop for the MS and HS, has expanded its offerings. Feel free to stop by the shop, located next to the pool table in the Link (HUB) for a look at what's new. The shop is open Monday - Friday from 11:00am - 1:00pm.

Many new titles of English and Chinese children's story books are now on offer at PTA Place (ES), including several fun favorites from Dr. Seuss. Come check them out...they make great gifts as well!

PTA Coffee Morning for Grand Hill Residents

WAB parent Sandi Howlett invites all WAB parents who reside in the Grand Hills housing complex to gather at Le Cafe (Grand Hills Clubhouse) on Monday May 12 at 11:00am for an hour of socializing.

"Pretty Things" Collection for the Charles Foundation...Continues Through Tuesday April 29

The PTA is collecting contributions of "pretty things," such as headbands, hair ties, costume jewelry or other small treasures to be shared with young girls in the remote regions of Sichuan province through the Charles Foundation.

PTA Spring Clothing Drive

This is the last week of the appeal...donations will be accepted through Friday April 18.

PTA Meeting: April 22

All WAB parents are invited to attend the next PTA meeting, Tuesday April 22, 1:00pm - 3:00pm, MS Library Conference Room. PTA meetings provide a wonderful opportunity for parents to meet with WAB's Interim Director, Principals and other school leaders, as well as to discuss the life of the school, including the upcoming PTA Fun Fair!

PTA Food of the World: Italy

The PTA invites all parents to the 2nd "PTA Food of the World Demonstration: Festival of Italian Pasta and Appetizers" in the Lotus Lounge, Tuesday May 6, 1:45pm – 3:30pm.

PTA Small Change Appeal Final Tally

The final tally for the PTA Small Change Appeal is 127,315, which was well over this year's goal. All of the children featured on the Small Change Appeal posters will be supported next year in their schools, as well as many others! The PTA again thanks all students who contributed, and all teachers and families who encouraged their children's efforts to raise support. Thanks as well to all of those mums and dads who helped count the piles of small change.
