ES Sports Days Embody Olympic Spirit

Grade 4 - 5 students welcomed seven children from Sichuan province to join in the fun and challenge of the Grade 4- 5 Olympic Sports Day. The children were in Beijing on a week long stay at the Rural Women’s school, with which WAB has a longstanding relationship, and which has received generous support from WAB parents.

ECC Students Lap Up Contributions for Earthquake Relief

Across the school, students have taken action on their compassion for the students and families or Sichuan who were affected by the earthquake. Last week, WAB's youngest classmates gathered on the WAB Track for a Walk-a-Thon. Donning trainers and sun visors, students circled the track, counting each lap with pride.

Grade 5 Steps up to Middle School

Grade 6 level leaders offer a summary of Grade 5 - Grade 6 Transition week and provide useful information about the MS for parents of all current Grade 5 students.

ES Atrium

The ES Atrium will provide a normal morning snack and lunch service on Tuesday September 2, the first day of the 2008/2009 school year, for students in Grade K - 5. Students in ECC and Kindergarten will not require lunch in the first two weeks of school due to their early dismissal at 12:00pm each day.

ES End of Year Assembly, Thursday June 12

ES parents are invited to attend the ES End of Year Assembly on Thursday June 12, from 11:00am - 12:00pm in the ES Gym. Parents interested in celebrating the end of the year with their child or saying goodbye to any leavers are encouraged to attend this assembly. Although the whole school will gather for a final assembly on Friday morning, parents are encouraged to attend their child's school section assembly on Thursday, as space for the Friday WS assembly is extremely limited.

ES Classes for 2008/2009

This week all class placements for 2008/2009 were finalized. Following many hours of research, checking friendship lists, consulting of teachers and reading parent requests, we believe that each student is poised to have another excellent year in 2008/2009. Class lists will be available for viewing on-line or in front of the Elementary School on Friday August 29.

Former ES Doorman Volunteers with ES Art Classes

Former ES doorman 高树平, aka Jake, has returned to WAB over the last few weeks to volunteer his creative talents in ES Art classes. Jake doesn't necessarily want to become a teacher, but he enjoys working with children, practicing his English and learning more about artistic processes. WAB welcomes Jake back into the community and appreciates his volunteer work.

Last week, a total of 370 smiling ECC and ES students posed for photographs which are being submitted to BOCOG for possible use during the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.
