WABX HS Season 3 Sports Awards

WABX will hold an awards ceremony for all HS students who participated in WABX Season 3 sports, on Tuesday May 20, at 3:45pm in the Blu Theatre. Parents are invited to attend. Snacks and drinks will be available in the Link from 3:20pm - 3:40pm.

WAB Shines at ISAC Track Meet

Congratulations to all the members of the Track team who ran, jumped and threw so well on Saturday. For the third year running, WAB performed strongly in all the events. This year, WAB won all relay races entered by a substantial margin. The under 14 final for 100m featured five WAB girls who made it past the heats. The boys final had three WAB boys, who put forth an excellent effort!

Health Reminder from the WAB Pool

During the last few weeks we have noticed an increase in students with warts. WAB nurses have collected the following information about verrucas: Warts are a viral infection of the skin. The virus is not dangerous but warts can be a nuisance and can be painful, especially those that develop on the bottom of the feet (called verrucas).

WAB Community Golf Tournament

The WABX team invites the WAB community to participate in the inaugural WAB Community Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the nearby Riverside Golf Course. This tournament will help expand WAB’s golf program and "Tee-off’ a new 2008-09 After-School Activity (ASA). It is a particularly exciting time with WAB golf team members serving as “peer-coaches” to Special Olympics (SO) athletes from Shunyi Special School.

MS WABX Awards Ceremony

WABX will hold an awards ceremony for MS students who participated in WABX sports during season 3, and for all MS students who participated in non-sporting activities this year on Monday May 19 in the Blu Theatre. The activity awards will be presented at 3:30pm, followed by the presentation of sports awards at 4:30pm. Snacks and drinks will be available in the Link from 4:00pm - 4:45pm. Parents are invited to attend.

Teamwork is a Priority for the Grade 7 Basketball Team

Summer has arrived, and to mark the event, WABX is conducting the WAB X2 Generation Doubles Tennis Tournament, starting 9:00am on Saturday May 10 on the WAB tennis courts.

WAB Varsity Boys Champion the ACAMIS Division 1 Soccer Tournament

WAB Varsity Boys Champion ACAMIS Soccer Tournament Last weekend, WAB hosted its largest ACAMIS sporting event ever, with 144 high school students competing for the ACAMIS Division 1 Soccer Championships. Many thanks to all of the families that helped make this event a success, especially those who supported the tournament by hosting the 120 athletes visiting from out of town.

WAB Idol 2008 Goes to Joe, Grade 12

Last Friday's WAB Idol 2008 showcased the extraordinary talents of WAB's diverse student body, ranging from Joe's winning rendition of "Hallelujah" to Veronica's red hot rhythmic gymnastics routine to a cameo performance of Mustang Sally from WAB's incoming Director, Robert Landau, along with the HS Assistant Principal and music teachers.
