WAB Coaches had the opportunity to attend a "Coaching Nuts and Bolts" training session/professional development opportunity on Thursday afternoon with Ross Sullivan from Australia. Ross has an active PE teaching background and has been involved in coaching and coaching development for some time. His experience includes being an assistant coach for the Australian Institute of Sport Women’s Program, a coach/mentor for the Australian Junior Program, and the NCAA Experience (PAC-10) in the US.
The PD session catered to coaches of all ages and sports and covered the following topics: you the coach, understanding the athlete, team culture/creating a competitive environment, trends in coaching.
